It has been a while since I last posted on the website, but that does not mean that I have not been doing anything. On the contrary, it has been a very active time in which I have worked on a wide range of new music – and I didn’t want to keep sending messages and releases because we all suffer from advertisements. I use the website as the place to upload and organise all my music, and if you click on the music page you will find all the releases, as well as things I am working on. There are also many booklets available. I have done a lot using AI as a collaborative tool, but am also active in working on live music and playing with others, and so one helps the other.
As always I am disappointed with the response on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music, but SoundCloud has been a great motivator. I currently have over 340,000 plays and the top two songs, “Good News” and “Glass Dome” each have around 20,000 plays and many others have over 2000 each.
I have experimented a lot and this has included songs about my own past and places where I have lived, such as the Middle East. One experiment was to put together an instrumental album with the combination of an Arabic traditional band, a cello quartet, a jazz-rock band and a heavy metal band. This is called “The Shamal Codex”. I have also gone into geology, the history of the planet and many other areas; and also have the basis for a podcast/play with the title “Still in Motion”.
