Be Real is a song with Arabic musical influences. I lived for a long time in the Middle East and loved the music and rhythms, and the crossover into pop/dance music. The song is about being genuine and real, and not being fake or constructing artificial images of yourself. The cover picture shows a crocodile with botox dressed as a conquistador. You cannot be this person with your fake blue suede shoes, and rather like the modern cities in the Gulf which have been built out of the sand with artificial grass and air conditioning, in the end it is not real. Being real is about embracing the power of telling the truth and embracing the power of not being afraid to communicate who you are, what you value and believe. This goes for a person, as well as a country….
