From the recording LP18 2099 - A BRIGHTER WORLD
“Snapshots of Tomorrow” paints an easy-breathing portrait of daily life in 2099, when survival anxiety has given way to curiosity and creativity. Its verses wander through a world where work is light and passion-driven, education flows like play through neural implants, and health is monitored by invisible nanosensors so illness rarely takes hold. Images of vactrains gliding and food forests rising in the air capture a society that moves effortlessly and lives in harmony with its environment. The chorus—“These are the snapshots of tomorrow, where time we borrow is time we give”—becomes both a celebration and a gentle moral: that in a world of abundance, the richest currency is shared time and the freedom to pursue meaning and art.
CONCEPT
Everyday Life: Snapshots of 2099 Experience
· Work redefined. Most people work fewer than 20 hours a week (a prediction echoed in speculative timelines) . Many roles are project- or passion-based, blending creativity, caregiving, and knowledge.
· Education as lifelong art. Learning is modular, adaptive, and playful. Neural-augmentation “learning implants” accelerate mastery; everyone learns multiple crafts, languages, and inter-disciplinary skills.
· Health as continuous feedback. Wearables and internal nanosensors monitor wellness; early signs of imbalance are corrected before disease takes hold. Surgeries, if needed, are microscale and often regenerative.
· Mobility at light speed. High-speed vacuum trains (vactrains), magnetically levitated capsules, autonomous flying pods make regional and continental travel fast, safe, emission-free.
· Housing as ecosystem. Homes produce more energy than they consume; vertical farming, air purification, water recycling, and nutrient loops are fully integrated. Neighborhoods are walkable, verdant, connected.
· Food & nutrition. Traditional agriculture still exists in harmony with nature, but much of the global diet is supported by precision fermentation, cellular meat, algae, and synthetic photosynthesis systems. Biodiverse “food forests” supply flavor crops everywhere.
· Art, meaning & identity. Because basic needs are reliably met, many people pursue deep artistic, spiritual, and personal growth paths. Hybrid art forms (neuro-interactive, multisensory, planetary-scale performances) abound.
Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Twenty hours of work, the rest is play,
We build with heart in the light of day.
Projects bloom where our passions lead,
Care and creation our only creed.
Learning flows like a favorite song,
Neural sparks where the curious belong.
Languages dance in a playful stream,
Every skill a waking dream.
[Chorus]
These are the snapshots of tomorrow,
Where time we borrow is time we give.
Homes that breathe, hearts that follow,
We’ve found a freer way to live.
[Verse 2]
Health whispers early, the body knows,
Tiny healers where the bloodstream flows.
Vactrains glide on a silent track,
Flying pods bring the far world back.
Gardens rise through the city air,
Food forests fruit in the commons we share.
Flavors of algae, of sun and rain,
Taste of a world that outgrew pain.
[Chorus]
These are the snapshots of tomorrow,
Where time we borrow is time we give.
Homes that breathe, hearts that follow,
We’ve found a freer way to live.
[Bridge]
Art that listens, art that feels,
Planetary canvases, infinite reels.
Meaning and wonder, spirit and grace,
Every soul finding its place.
[Final Chorus]
These are the snapshots of tomorrow,
Where time we borrow is time we give.
Homes that breathe, hearts that follow,
We’ve found a freer way to live.
