THE LAST ORDINARY DAY is a progressive rock concept album about time, mortality, attention and the hidden significance of ordinary life. Built as a continuous narrative, it uses recurring musical motifs, extended instrumental passages and repeated sounds to follow a single apparently unremarkable day as it gradually acquires an entirely different meaning. The album follows one completely ordinary day in the life of an unnamed person who wakes at precisely 06:43, unaware that by midnight the world as they understand it will cease to exist. At first, neither the protagonist nor the listener knows what this means. There is no obvious catastrophe approaching. Trains continue to run, people go to work, cafés open, children go to school and somebody complains about the weather. The world behaves exactly as it did yesterday.
